Dual Credit Opportunities in Limestone DSB
Each semester, students in the Limestone District School Board have access to a variety of Dual Credit courses offered through St. Lawrence College in Kingston. These courses allow students to explore college-level learning while still in high school — and earn credits for both!
Programs are available in areas such as:
- Early Childhood Education
- Police Foundations
- Graphic Design
- Culinary Arts and Business
- Skilled Trades
Why Choose Dual Credits?
Dual Credit programs give students the opportunity to:
- Earn high school and college credits at the same time
- Gain hands-on experience in a college or apprenticeship setting
- Explore career pathways and make informed post-secondary decisions
- Get a head start on their future education and training
Types of Dual Credit Programs
Integrated Dual Credits
Students attend college once or twice a week and take a course alongside regular college students.
Congregated Dual Credits
Students take a college course in a college setting, taught by a college instructor, alongside other high school students. This format offers a more supported transition into college life.
Additional Supports
- Tuition, books, and transportation are fully covered by the School College Work Initiative (SCWI).
- Students experience campus life and college-level learning with support from both college staff and a Limestone DSB Dual Credit monitor, who helps ensure student success.
